Community Work

I established and continue to head the NGO Samrakshan Trust, which works for sustainable livelihoods and community-based resource governance. Samrakshan’s Dryland Research Field Station has hosted dozens of researchers from across India and the world in the last three decades. It has an excellent repository of local research studies and long-term data. I also organize field-based immersive courses on Critical Agrarian Studies and Rural Research Methods from time to time.

I am also the founder and President of the NGO Adharshila, which works for school education and integrated village development in the Vijaypur block of district Sheopur, Madhya Pradesh.
